Equipment Safety Notices

Every glass component is inspected before it ships. Inspection after it arrives is yours, and it matters.

On Arrival

Unpack and inspect each glass component before first use. If anything arrived damaged, do not use it. Contact Torr Kitchen at support@torrkitchen.com and we will make it right.

Before and After Every Use

Tempered glass is strong, not indestructible. Normal use, mishandling, and improper storage can all introduce imperfections over time. Inspect each lid before and after every run. If you find a chip, crack, scratch, or any other damage, take the lid out of service and replace it. Damaged glass under vacuum can shatter and cause serious injury and damage to the area around it.

Responsibility

Once a glass component has been received, inspected, and put into service, maintaining it in safe working condition is the customer's responsibility. Torr Kitchen LLC is not liable for glassware failures after that point, and by using the equipment the customer accepts that risk.

Heat and Vacuum Sources

Base sets require an appropriate heat source and vacuum source to operate safely. Do not run a set without understanding which sources are appropriate. The Induction Heating (IH) Unit and the Diaphragmatic Vacuum Pump sold by Torr Kitchen are customized for this equipment.

Solvents

For extraction and solvent recovery, use high-proof ethanol only. Ethanol and its vapors are highly flammable and dangerous when concentrated or exposed to an ignition source. Work in a well-ventilated area and keep away from ignition sources. Any other solvent is prohibited and can cause serious injury or death.
